Academic accessInternet access can be expensive, particularly for students who are not earning an income but who need extensive time on the net to research assignments. Raymont Lodge has its own internet service, Raymont Lodge Internet Services, which can be connected to every student's room. We provide access to the internet access for students. Access to libraries... If you need access to books, there are 4 libraries located within easy reach of Raymont Lodge. Toowong Library is a short stroll away in Toowong Village. Indooroopilly Shoppingtown also has a library open from Monday to Saturday with extended hours. Alternately, you can cross the river to Southbank where you can find the State Library of Queensland. On site we have a theological library belonging to Trinity College. On-campus Recreation
Clean and HealthyWhile residents are responsible for cleaning their clothes and linen, they don't have to leave the site. Raymont Lodge has its own laundry facilities with washing machines and coin-operated dryers. There are also external clothes lines provided. Change is always available during office hours. Each resident is responsible for the cleaning of their own room, while the unit common room and kitchen areas are the collective responsibility of the whole unit. Management takes care of weekly cleaning of showers, toilets and common areas. A helping handRaymont Lodge ensures there is always somebody available to help residents when required. In emergencies, supervisors can be contacted via internal phone and are qualified to administer first aid if necessary. Supervisors are also available as mentors, and can assist residents with any issues that may arise, whether personal or study related. Each year student advisors from within the returning student body are chosen to offer help, support and advice to new students facing the challenge of undertaking tertiary studies away from the familiar surroundings of home. Raymont Lodge has two chaplains who work together providing support to residents and staff, they aim to build and enhance a strong community based on consideration, respect and Christian values. They are available to students seeking advice or who just need a listening ear. The Raymont Lodge office is also equipped to help residents with everyday personal and study needs. This includes access to photocopying facilities, sending and receiving faxes, and giving change. They will assist residents in any way they can including booking appointments with medical centres, finding the best way to get to a destination and establishing student networks. The Resident's AssociationRaymont Lodge Resident's Association coordinates and organises events for the benefit of the residents. Management chooses returning students to assist them to provide support for residents, particularly those who are new to Brisbane and to Raymont Lodge. These residents act as the President, Treasurer, Secretary, Sports Coordinator and Public Relations of the Association. Regular recreational and social activities are organised by the Association with the highlight of the year being the Annual Dinner (Gala Ball).
